Sorry that I’ve been so very neglectful over here. I’ve been sort of distracted/busy, and also slightly sick. It’s still woefully snowy and cold out (I think almost six feet in a month?? Wow) and I’ve been mostly stuck in my apartment for a long time. I’m getting a bit tired of it.
Anyway! To catch up:
Reading:
& In tights, polkadot wellies, and new coat (SO soft) from my mom, on New Year’s Eve:
& Oh, bow dress, I love you!:

(My girliness apparently knows no bounds!)
& A super-cute little Viewmaster Christmas ornament, from my mom:
& A new shower curtain (French vocabulary) from my parents. I love it!:
Frost/Nixon STILL hasn’t come here. Sigh. I hope it does very soon. Also, I’m very excited for Last Chance Harvey (trailer here) which looks very sweet. I love Emma Thompson & any trailer that uses Badly Drawn Boy‘s “The Shining” (the subject line is from its lyrics) automatically owns a bit of my heart. It’s one of those songs that makes me gasp every time I hear it, because it’s so brilliantly gorgeous, and I cannot hear it without tearing up, in a mostly good way. It reminds me of a specific time in my life, an optimistic time that I’ve been trying to get back to lately.
Here’s a lovely live performance of it in London, from 2004:
More soon, indeed. xoxo

Thats so funny you mentioning Badly Drawn boy, i just re-bought the albums on cd so i can listen to them in my workshop (i bought them back when i was a geeky record shop employee and only bought vinyl!) and i’d forgotton just how much i like him. Reminds me of a carefree time in my life!
They’re so great, definitely!
I had forgotten how much I love that song/album. Now I can’t stop listening to it again.
I badly written boy.
*wonders what it’s like showering surrounded by french*
Sarah- Totally! It’s brilliant.
& Pete- You are! I have a fondness for people who remind me of you, I swear :)
and ha, I know! I keep reading the words backwards while I’m drying my hair in the mirror
